“Never A Truer Word”
“Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward with the life that God intended for you.”
Og Mandino
1923-1996, Author and Speaker
How many wonderful words have been uttered and not passed on. Even those of children. I would like to share one with you.
I was driving with my two young children along a road near where we lived. It was a long straight road about one mile long. On one side of the road there was bushland and on the other there was horse pastures.
One paddock along this side of the road had just been mowed. This paddock next to this one had long lush green grass the paddock that had been freshly mowed was slightly yellowing.
looking out the window at the passing scene prompted my young son who was about 6 years old at the time to say with a very surprised voice. “Mum it’s true…the grass is greener on the other side of the fence”.
I was truly surprised that he would notice and also that he would even be aware of the saying.
My question from the quote above from Og Mandino arises, “Is this really true or do we just imagine that what we have must not be as wonderful as what we could have”.
Maybe, just maybe what we have is exactly what we are meant to have and we will get more when we are grateful for what we do have right now at this point in time.
